This verse follows the fact that we have all been given differing gifts according to God’s grace. It is also true that we are designed for community and need each other. In other words your success is the only road to my success. I want my brothers and sisters to succeed. I need them to succeed. They need me to succeed. They need me to turn away from false narratives in my life and they need me to pursue Christ. The choices I make week in and week out effect my brothers and sisters.
I don’t need to compete and pretend I’m better then my brothers because I’m not. They are better at many things and I’m glad they are. I want to celebrate their victories and growth. I want to be the first person to point it out to them. I want to see the good in people and rejoice when I see Christ in them. This gives me so much joy and hope. I want my brothers to know I’m fighting right alongside them. Praying for their marriages and kids and work and their joy.
Lord thank you for the awesome people you’ve put in my life. I want to fight for their joy. I want to celebrate their victories. Please help me be a part of their success on their journey. Amen
