“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, meditate on these things.” Phil. 4:8
The key to experiencing joy in your heart is to have the right thoughts in your mind. The proverb holds true “as a man thinks in his heart so is he” (prov. 23:7). That’s why “the power of positive thinking” really works. Basically, you shape your reality by the thoughts and words coursing through your brain. If I think about my failures as a father I become that father. When I think about all the good things I’ve done as a father I become that father. Authors out there today act as if they came up with this on their own. This truth has been around for 2000 years penned by the Holy Spirit for us to meditate on.
If you sow a thought you reap an action. Actions sow habits and habits reap a lifestyle. It all starts in the thoughts.
If you’re having trouble with this write down a list of good things and stick it in your pocket, then take a look at what you wrote throughout today as you go along. Try and recognize worries and bad thoughts for what they are and capture every thought and bring it to Christ.
Lord this is exciting news. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Help me frame with my words and thoughts the positive fruit-bearing you desire. Amen
