“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17
Have you ever gotten an email? A nasty gram? A confusing sentence thrown in a coversation layered in double meanings? Or maybe just well meaning advice from a friend? Or maybe a leader or pastor who has to have all the answers and be right about everything every time. And you wonder is this right and should I listen to this person. The verse above is a tried and true BS filter. It tells us what the wisdom from above looks like.
Use your filter anytime of the day. It works at night when your brain starts deciding to think for itself. It works during lunch hrs even. It even works on wives, husbands, and small children. It also helps me give better council and encouragement because I don’t pretend to tell people I know what exactly it is they need to do. It helps me point people to Christ.
Lord thank for wisdom that is from above. You are our good shepherd and you know the sheep. You lead us, you guide us. Help me to give wisdom that points to you. Amen
