Squawking, Stressing, and Worst Case Scenario-ing

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Psalm 34:8

The word “blessed” in Psalm 34:8 is translated “happy”. We are happy when we fully trust the Lord. We have a habit of interpreting our circumstances wrongly.  I begin to measure out the possibilities and the next thing I know I’m no longer happy and I’m putting my trust in myself. Thankfully, I shouldn’t trust my thoughts because…..well I’m not smart enough to understand everything. Nor can we look back on our past and fully understand why everything happened the way it happened. It’s beyond us.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  Isaiah 55:8-9

But what I can do in this moment is shrug my fears off and trust the Lord. Fully trust Him with a childlike faith and let Him unfold the next chapter without the squawking, stressing, and worst case scenario-ing.

I rescued a duckling yesterday that was completely lost and in danger. It squeaked and fought me the whole way. My ways were higher then her ways. She didn’t understand I was working for her good. She may never understand.
